After my Berkley digital scale became unreadable after several seasons, this little scale seemed just the ticket at its low price point and small footprint, plus, the Reuben Heaton name has a good reputation and wide use in carpdom. Imagine my disappointment when, upon weighing my very first fish on at--a specimen of some 14-odd pounds, I heard a loud click, at which point the scale became totally non-functional. I must add that Big Carp Tackle gave me credit for the purchase, which I gladly applied to some additional tackle items. I have since purchased an American Weigh Scale H-110 digital scale and have been very pleased with that purchase and its performance.

I wanted some Reuben Heaton's but wasn't happy spending $100+ on a set of scales. I have used many different brands of scales in the past and even used digital luggage scales for a while. These come with a nice carry case and easy to read dial. I would reccoment these scales to any carp fishing enthusiast as they are small and light enough to fit in any tackle box.

This is a nice looking inexpensive compact scale. Mine however, broke within the first season of its use. The hook detached from the plastic bit when trying to weigh a fish around 20ish pounds. I repaired it this season but once again it broke.

This is hands down the best small scale that I have used in this price range. The zero feature is broad enough to zero out with a net that weighs 2 lbs. The scale remained functional in subzero temperatures when digital scales and other pull scales froze. Haven't tried the corrosion resistance of the internal mechanism as it fits nicely inside a 1 quart ziplock bag. Nice to know that I don't have to worry about condensation though on dewy nights. When every ounce of weight in the pack matters - this scale is worth carrying. I have been very happy with this scale.
