Free Spirit CTX Carp Rods Matte finish (Abbreviated Handle)
A complex manufacturing process integrates 40t and 30t carbons with resin content below 25%. Wrapping alternately at 90 degrees and zero degrees for added strength, then further wrapping with 3mm bi-axis carbon tape at 45 degrees produces extremely strong yet ultra-light and slim blanks.
In addition to a much improved power to weight ratio of a blank at this price, a further advantage of this multi-layer structure is the accuracy of casting as the blank is less prone to twisting and the effect of bias. We are known for our distance casting rods and have proven during testing that the blank construction has produced rods with extreme casting abilities and great recovery. Cosmetically the ‘X’-Tape runs the length of the blank and gives it a very attractive and distinctive all new matt ‘Perdurable’ finish.
This outstanding rod range is finished with Fuji DPS reel seats, stainless steel collars and ‘S’-Lite guides, making them perform and look fantastic for many years to come and….. they won’t break the bank. Complimentary to this range and still in testing stage will be stalking rods, landing nets and a range of barbel rods.

Free Spirit CTX Creeper Rods Matte finish
Stalking rods have always been popular but now many see the benefit of shorter rods for mainstream carping, especially when travelling light, moving swims or taking advantage of short, opportunistic sessions around work. These rods are also suitable for boat work, either when rowing out baits and landing fish or when fishing from the boat as is popular on European waters such as Chantecoq. The 10’ versions are especially suited to this.
A complex manufacturing process integrates Japanese 40t and 30t carbons with resin content below 25%. Wrapping alternately at 90 degrees and zero degrees for added strength, then further wrapping with 3mm bi-axis carbon tape at 45 degrees produces extremely strong yet ultra-light and slim blanks. From 2020 these feature a matt blank finish.
The CTX compact carp rods are built to the same exacting standards as the longer rods with options of abbreviated, full cork and full EVA. Both 10’ models are available with 30mm or 40mm butt guides.

Free Spirit Helical Carp Rods Matte finish (Abbreviated Handle)
Free Spirit have sought to offer the best quality possible at any given price by keeping check on overheads and putting as much as possible into the product. With the new Helical range of carp rods, we believe you will be shocked at the quality of these at the price point they hit.
Using a blend of carbons from Hankook and Toray with a helical wrapped finish produces a blank that fulfils the promise of casting and fish playing whilst keeping it light and slim. As with all Free Spirit rods the finish is free from any paint or lacquer to maintain appearance for many years.
The build they have opted for is very modern build with black reel seat`s and black framed stainless-steel guides with a subtle red tipping around the logo. All rods feature abbreviated handles with DPS style size 18 reel seats and black Acetile collars and butt cap.
There are 5 rods in the range, one 10’ 3lb with 40mm butt guide and size 12 anti-frap tip guide. which suits smaller waters, impromptu sessions or when you want to travel light and there’s a 10’ SPM to match. There are three 12’ rods, the 3lb and 3.25lb make great all-rounders and a 3.50lb for distance or weedy conditions or when going overseas, all feature 50mm ringing to 16 anti-frap tip. The 13’ SU is capable of serious distances and rung with 50mm to 16 anti-frap tip.

Free Spirit S Lite Carp Rods 12ft 3.5lb (50mm) Full Cork
Periodically new materials become available and we are always keen to test these to understand their properties and potential benefits. Our philosophy is to thoroughly push these but they have to offer something special that will stand the test of time. Over the past 18 months or so we have three new carbons and were very impressed with the performance and properties of a material with the code C626. This material enabled us to build very strong slim blanks, yet with very efficient recovery, reminiscent of our Hi-S range - they could even be called the 'baby Hi-S' but instead we settled for the name S Lite. However don't be fooled that these aren't capable of extreme ranges as in testing they were casting huge distances, testament to the loading response and fast recovery this material lends to the blanks. The slimness of the blank helps with this but the carbon has to be high quality not to feel tip heavy.
As with all Free Spirit rods the finish has to be cosmetically attractive and different and the weave is quite stunning and as usual features our 'Perdurable' finish. To compliment the 40t low resin ultra slim blank is a new Fuji reel seat - VSS17, which features open sides and we fit a carbon sleeve of the same material as the blank to help transmission through the seat to the hand. Guides feature black frames since the blank has a dark finish and all fittings are stainless steel for durability.
For the full cork version we have developed a Clone seat with isotope slot from C626 carbon as this was cosmetically more appealing when fitted with 'A' grade cork both sides. Since the S-Lites can be custom built this seat can be used on abbreviated builds should you prefer this to the VSS17.
