If you’re looking for a tough, reliable line that won’t cost you the earth, then Carp Line is definitely the one for you! During testing Carp Line has already become a firm favourite with those who got their hands on the samples, including Elliott Gray and it is now his line of choice when fishing with mono. It is amongst the toughest lines on the market, without being problematic to use, and in any situation where weed or snags come into play it should definitely be your first choice to spool up with. It will handle weed, gravel bars and mussels better than most lines, but if there are signs of abrasion then it is also cheap to re-spool. The line sinks well, even more so once it has been used a few times, and is a nice subtle SUB-green colour which blends in well with most lake beds and is hard to see even in clear water. For such a tough line it behaves well on the spool and casts well, plus gives a very high knot strength. The low stretch factor makes it ideal for feeling the lead down to the bottom and making sure you get that ‘donk’ and are confident in where your rig has landed. Damian Clarke, who was involved in designing the line, enthused: “With lots of our products, especially fishing lines, we work with some of the best manufacturers in the world. “These guys are pushingthe boundaries in manufacturing to create thinner, lighter and more technically advanced monofilaments, but with Carp Line we took a step back. “Some anglers just wanted something simple and reliable, a does what it says on the tin product, so Carp Line was born!” -

It may be because I am now used to braid, but I was not impressed by this line at all. I have, until recently, used mono exclusively and was used to a limper line.

I got the 20lb stuff and it is really stiff, even after following the instructions and soaking it for an hour prior to spooling it still seemed like it wanted to jump off the spool at any time.

It is really tough and pulled out lots of weed balls with no problem. It seemed to not have much a stretch, which is good in my book.

As it is a bigger diameter line the cast was not great, but acceptable.

I will be going back to braid, but if you are looking for a tough thick line this will fit the bill and is really cost effective to use.

I am not a huge fan of Mono line, but this stuff is really nice! I spooled up two reels with the 20lb line and havent looked back. It has the perfect amount of stretch to not spook the carp like my braid would. I have landed several fish on this line that didnt even seem to realize they were hooked until they were in the net! This combined with a good 12' pole and the fish come in tired but not completely exhausted. Absolutely love it! I will spooling up a few more reels with this very soon. Nicely done Korda!
